A range of the latest smart power, motor control and AI imaging solutions from leading component manufacturers including NXP, Wolfspeed and TE Connectivity will also be on display at the Arrow stand in Hall 11, #D40. Visitors will receive guidance and insights from technical experts and engineers from Arrow and its technology suppliers on how to quickly implement AMR, intelligent power management and AI imaging technologies to improve efficiency, automation, safety and flexibility across industries.

AMR innovation transforms industries

Autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) are intelligent and independent mobile robots designed to operate in dynamic and unstructured environments without constant human guidance in a range of industries, such as manufacturing, logistics, warehouse, medical, and agriculture. The global AMR market(1) is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 22 percent to reach USD 9.9 billion in 2032.

“The demand for AMRs is increasing due to their growing use across industries and increasing public awareness of their benefits,” said Tony Gao, senior director of Asia Distribution Sales at Onsemi. “As a global leader in industrial automation, we offer a variety of autonomous mobile robot-enabled (AMR) solutions from individual components to subsystem designs, such as rugged, high-resolution imaging systems, high-performance motor control and intelligent power solutions. Together with Arrow, Onsemi provides the essential building blocks and technological expertise customers need to adopt reliable, intelligent and timely AMR solutions to deliver automation benefits.”

Accelerating AMR design and time-to-market cycle

By combining advanced electronics and software technologies, AMRs feature complex subsystem designs that allow them to operate autonomously in dynamic environments, learning from experience and adapting to different situations over time. The market demands modular, ready-to-deploy solutions that streamline and accelerate the design process.

Arrow has collaborated with Onsemi to launch this AMR platform that simplifies the complex design process. This AMR platform features Onsemi’s latest image sensor technologies, including the AR0234 global shutter camera, the NCV75215 ultrasonic sensor, and the silicon photomultiplier LiDAR. Motion control is controlled by Onsemi’s NCS32100 inductive position sensor and 60V, 3-phase NCD83591 BLDC gate driver. TE Connectivity’s rugged connectors provide a reliable connection for transmitting power, data, and signals in these types of industrial applications.

In addition to the AMR platform, Arrow’s booth will also feature a simulated conveyor belt for smart manufacturing, demonstrating the following technologies:

1. Smart nutrition

  • Reference design for NXP’s 800W bidirectional power supply
  • Wolfspeed 22kW bidirectional active front-end and DC-DC converter built on silicon carbide MOSFET technology to optimize dynamic switching performance at high speed
  • Wolfspeed SpeedVal™ Kit Modular Evaluation Platform
  • Reference design for Arrow’s 6.6 kW bidirectional power supply
  • Arrow’s 10kW Human-Machine Interface and Solar Photovoltaic Inverter Reference Design

2. Intelligent time-sensitive network/EtherCAT motor control from NXP

  • NXP i.MX RT1180 Crossover dual-core, real-time microcontrollers featuring an Arm® Cortex®-M7 and Arm® Cortex®M33 for high performance and real-time capabilities
  • Arrow rapid prototyping development kit

3. Turnkey IO-link solutions

  • All-in-one IO-link Master 4-port MCU (ARW-IOLM4P-STM32L4) from STMicroelectronics/Arrow
  • 8-port IO-link master hub and 8-port digital input/output solutions for industrial, building and factory automation systems
  • Embedded IO link protocol, controllers and transceiver to simplify product design

4. AI image processing

  • Advanced thermal imaging solution with NXP MCX-N9 series high-performance deep learning MCU for precise measurement of surface temperature of people or objects with exceptional accuracy
  • AI and machine learning implementations powered by NXP i.MX 93 application processors supporting facial recognition, gesture and pose detection, depth detection, object detection and segmentation

“As autonomous mobile robots continue to transform smart manufacturing, advanced technological capabilities in product design, engineering and manufacturing are required,” said Jacky Wan, vice president of sales – China and Engineering – Greater China Components for Arrow Electronics. “Our collaboration with a global network of technology suppliers enables us to bring the latest AMR, intelligent sensing, power management and edge AI solutions to market. With our extensive design tools, engineering resources and supply chain expertise, we are well positioned to help customers overcome technical challenges, accelerate the design cycle for smart manufacturing applications and take manufacturing and warehouse operations to the next level.”
