12-Channel LED Driver from Diodes Incorporated Provides Superior Performance for Digital Signage and Displays

Diodes Incorporated (Diodes) (Nasdaq: DIOD) today introduced a new 12-channel, constant-current LED driver, the AL58221. It features 12 open-drain outputs rated at 24V and sinks up to 60mA of highly accurate current with fast transient response. Channel-to-channel LED current accuracy is typically ±1% and regulated output current tolerance is ±0.1%.

The driver operates from an input voltage of 3 to 5.5 V and uses adaptive pulse density modulation (APDM) to help reduce non-ideal I.OUT distortion and increase visual refresh rates for improved performance. It can be used for indoor and outdoor LED video signage and displays, variable message signs (VMS), architectural and decorative LED lighting systems, and LCD backlighting.
