An estimated 17 million people are expected to travel by air over the Labor Day holiday, with more than 52,000 flights scheduled to depart on Thursday. The expected record turnout is being driven by lower prices, as airfares are down 5% compared to Labor Day last year, according to booking app Hopper. Gas prices are also down.
