Class action over flammable cladding begins in Sydney

Similar proceedings have been initiated in the High Court of New Zealand.

The cladding would be similar to that of Grenfell Towers in London, where 72 people died in a fire in 2017.

An Australian court this week began hearing a class action lawsuit against importers of allegedly flammable cladding, in preparation for a similar claim to be heard in New Zealand courts.

Litigation funder Omni Bridgeway is funding the actions on both sides of the Tasman on behalf of the construction
