Steph Curry is in an elite group when it comes to contract value.

The Golden State Warriors guard signed a one-year, $62.6 million contract extension on Thursday that will keep him with the franchise through the 2026-27 season, Octagon manager Jeff Austin told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

ESPN’s Bobby Marks reported that Curry’s deal makes him the third player to earn more than $500 million in career earnings, following LeBron James and Kevin Durant.

Curry has certainly done enough to deserve this distinction, leading the Warriors to four NBA championships and earning 10 All-Star nods, two regular-season MVPs and an NBA Finals MVP in 2021-22.

He has averaged 26.4 points, 5.1 assists and 4.5 rebounds in his career and has played in 147 playoff games for the Warriors.

Golden State will have to rely heavily on Curry in the coming seasons after losing Klay Thompson as a free agent and having no more salary cap space.

The Warriors went 46-36 and lost in the 2023-24 play-in tournament. With the Western Conference improving, Golden State will face an uphill battle to stay in the playoff race.
