Porthos provides basic materials for advanced European CO2 Absorption and Speicherung (CCS) ‹ Fruchtportal

The construction of the CCS projects “Porthos” in the Port area of Rotterdam is no longer written. The trade is one of the first CO2 Transport and Storage Project This large-scale regulation is being implemented in the European Union. The Porthos project is one of the most recent results: It provides the foundations for the best CCS projects in North-Western Europe.

The Baustart von Porthos could work with the direct involvement. The Bürgermeister of Rotterdam, Ahmed Aboutaleb, the Minister for Climate Policy and the Green Environment, Sophie Hermans, and the Stellvertretretende Generaldirektorin der Europäischen Kommission für Energie, Mechthild Wörsdörfer, are responsible for the Veranstaltung jointly with the Geschäftsführern der Porthos-Anteilseigner Gasunie, EBN (Energy Management Netherlands) and the Port of Rotterdam Authority.

Minister Hermans: “CCS is separated, the climate control system is safe. With the construction of the first major transport and storage systems for CO2 in the Netherlands, Porthos has achieved a major success. Because the industry reduces emissions, a legally responsible industry will emerge in the Dutch countries. I am stollen of all meanings, who dies may have the power to have them.”

Project Porthos

Porthos builds the infrastructure, one of the CO2 emissions from the industry in Rotterdam ports in the gas fields under the Nordsee for transport. Porthos customers Shell, ExxonMobil, Air Liquide and Air Products were CO2 in a freed pipeline in the Port area of Rotterdam.

The CO2 stream is an offshore pipeline on a best-hand platform in the North Sea, approximately 20 kilometers off the coast, transportable. The platform with CO2 emissions in one of the pumps of Gasfeld was pumped up. The erschöpften Gasfelder can be found more than 3 kilometers under the Nordsee in a versilt Reservoir made of porous sandstone.

Porthos would have made the European Union a project of all common interests and would have been financed with 102 million euros from the “Connecting Europe” project.

Basics for suitable CCS projects

With the CO2 emissions in the porthos projects, the time can be exceeded, the industrial trade, a von fossil fuels on coal dust farm or coal dust-free Alternative diversion. The construction of the free onshore pipeline portfolios is intended for the installation of a future CO2 network in northwestern Europe.

When Porthos transports 2.5 million tons per year, the onshore pipeline of Porthos is available for 10 million tons, so it is a project that can carry out projects with Aramis with CO2 storage. The Compressor Station is broken.

If you turn on the CO2 button, the CO2next signal can be removed. This terminal for Flussig-CO2 will transfer the air flow, CO2 for the future, which will no longer close any pipeline, to charge Schiff and so love.

These projects in Rotterdam offer the opportunity to build a CCS chain that can work together with the Delta Rhine Corridor and other connections to an international CCS network.

The development of Rotterdam as a CO2 Knotenpunkt is one of the European CCS Guidelines, which is laid down in the EU Strategy for Industrial CO2 Management (ICMS) and the Net Zero Industry Regulation (NZIA).

Together with technology with Direct Air Capture (DAC) and bioenergy with CO2 separation and storage (BECCS) can support the network, which results in negative emissions. CO2 is used in household horticulture, and it is a fact that CO2 is used in the factory as a raw material for the repair-synthetic Brennstoffe and for the Kreislaufprozesse process.

Willemien Terpstra, CEO of Gasunie: “There will be more interesting activity in this interesting CO2 project during the life of the CO2 project. CO2 transport and specification have a major impact on the infrastructure of the infrastructure, which ensures the carbonization of the industrial sector. We have a lot of knowledge of our extensive know-how in the gas infrastructure of the company, one of the best CO2 emissions of a large amount, which can help, safe and secure. Gasunie has developed a large CO2 project in Porthos, Aramis, CO2next and the Delta Rhine Corridor and will investigate the possibilities for a CO2 Knotenpunkt in the North of the Netherlands.

Jan Willem van Hoogstraten, CEO EBN: “If the energy industries of EBN will acquire a sustainable and sustainable energy system in 2050, and will generate the largest costs for the Company. Because the energy transition and the realization of the climate system have been developed, EBN is one of the Partners in CO2 transport and storage projects with Porthos, Aramis and other CO2 storage initiatives under the Nordsee. EBN acquires knowledge and know-how about the seabed. During an indefinite positioning of the market and the direction, a bridging function can be exercised by private-private partnerships. We actively take on the role of information and discussion leaders and develop and share knowledge in the area of CO2 storage. “

Boudewijn Siemons, CEO Port of Rotterdam Authority: “The project is a bigger challenge for the future, the CO2 emissions in the port of Rotterdam will be reduced by 55% by 2030 and by 2050 we will achieve a CO2 neutral port. If you want to install a CO2 infrastructure in the port, you can do CO2 specification projects for the CO2 emissions and projects for removing CO2 emissions if the substance does not work well. If the European energy sector is engaged in the expansion of the CO2 infrastructure and the connections with the national states, the CO2 emissions of the European industry will decrease.”

Time plan for the Bau von Porthos

The 30-kilometer-long Sammelpipeline through the Rotterdam harbor area is being built over time and by the various stations in the harbor. The construction of the compressor station on the Maasvlakte and the Kühlwasser pump station have not yet started in that month. Three compressors bring the CO2 to a pressure of 130 bar. It is possible that the offshore platform is being transported. The construction of the offshore pipeline and the construction of the platform started in the year 2025. Porthos was taken into operation in the year 2026.
