Air India’s new first class cabin has been praised for its design, comfort and service, and poses a challenge to the high fares charged by West Asian airlines.

Air India introduced a new first class cabin that has received rave reviews. Shankar Sharma, founder of GQuant and First Global, praised the new cabin to social media platform X, saying: “The new Air India aircraft with this Business – First cabin. Very, very nice. And the individual booths are very well designed and the lie-flat seat length is long enough for the 6 ft me. The food was excellent, the wine selection very good. The service, as always in AI, very warm.”

Shankar Sharma said new cabins could pose a major challenge to the high fares of other West Asian airlines. He said: “It was time that the ‘nier bechna padega’ fares of other West Asian airlines were crushed.”

Air India said on its official website that passengers are invited to “experience true luxury in the air” with its state-of-the-art first class cabin. The airline promises a journey that redefines comfort, with features such as 180-degree reclining sleeper cabins and an exclusive two-abreast seating arrangement, ensuring that the 12 passengers in first class arrive at their destination fully refreshed. The culinary experience on board is equally impressive, with a variety of main courses accompanied by vintage wines or smooth champagne. Passengers can also enjoy duty-free shopping at the Sky Bazaar, which offers a range of well-known brands.

This comes after Vistara’s merger with Ait India was completed and Tata SIA Airlines announced that flights scheduled after November 11, 2024, can be booked through the Vistara platform until September 3, 2024.
