Factbox Airlines suspend flights as Middle East tensions rise By Reuters

(Reuters) – Concerns about a wider conflict in the Middle East have led international airlines to suspend flights to the region or avoid affected airspace.

Below are some of the airlines that have adjusted their flights to and from the region:

AIR ALGERIA

The Algerian airline has suspended all flights to and from Lebanon until further notice.

AIR BALTIC

Latvian company airBaltic has canceled flights to and from Tel Aviv until September 15 based on the flights listed on its website.

AIR FRANCE-KLM

KLM canceled all flights to and from Tel Aviv through October 26.

Air France resumed flights on August 27, based on flight status information on its website.

The low-cost carrier Transavia, part of the French-Dutch group, has cancelled flights to and from Tel Aviv until March 31, 2025, and flights to Amman and Beirut until November 3.

AIR INDIA

The Indian airline has suspended scheduled flights to and from Tel Aviv until further notice.

CATHAY-PACIFIC

Hong Kong-based Cathay Pacific has cancelled all flights to Tel Aviv until March 27, 2025.

DELTA AIRLINES

The US airline has suspended flights between New York and Tel Aviv until October 31.

SIMPLE JET

The British budget airline stopped flying to and from Tel Aviv in April and will resume flights on March 30, 2025, a spokesman said.

IAG

Spanish budget airline Vueling has cancelled all flights to Tel Aviv and Amman until October 26.

ITA AVIATION

Italy’s ITA Airways has extended the suspension of flights to and from Tel Aviv until September 4.

LOT

The Polish airline has suspended its flights to Tel Aviv until September 4 and to Beirut until September 2.

LUFTHANSA GROUP

The German airline group, which also includes carriers such as Austrian Airlines and Brussels Airlines, has extended the suspension of flights to Tel Aviv and Tehran until September 4, while flights to Beirut are suspended until September 30. Flights to Amman and Erbil have resumed from August 27.

Lufthansa will resume flights to Tel Aviv from September 5; flights to Beirut will remain suspended until September 30.

Swiss International Air Lines, also part of the Lufthansa Group, separately reported that it has suspended flights to Beirut until the end of October.

RYANAIR

Europe’s largest budget airline has cancelled flights to and from Tel Aviv through September 30, due to “operational restrictions”.

SOLAR EXPRESS

SunExpress, a joint venture between Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa, has suspended flights to Beirut until December 17.

UNITED AIRLINES

The Chicago-based airline has temporarily suspended all flights to Tel Aviv for safety reasons.

AIRSPACE WARNINGS IN LEBANES

Britain has advised British airlines not to enter Lebanese airspace from August 8 to November 4, due to “potential risks to aviation from military activities”.
