TREASURY SHARES TRANSACTION

Alliance Trust PLC (“the Company”) announces that the Company has today purchased 100,000 ordinary shares of 2.5p each at a price of 1,186.0p per share, which are held in the Treasury.

Following the transaction, the issued share capital of the Company consists of 284,244,600 common shares, of which 2,285,000 common shares are held in Treasury. Therefore, the total voting power in the Company amounts to 281,959,600 common shares.

For reporting purposes under the FCA’s Disclosure Guidance and Transparency Rules, the market must exclude any shares held in its own control and use the figure 281,959,600 to determine whether they are required to report their interest in, or a change to their interest in, the Company.
