Pirelli GT4 America heads to Barber Motorsports Park this weekend for the penultimate event of the season, with at least one class title up for grabs in the expanded three-category sprint racing series.

ACI Motorsports’ Curt Swearingin and Kay Van Berlo could walk away with the Pro-Am championship after the two 60-minute races if they hold a 50-point lead over Heart of Racing Team’s Gray Newell and Roman De Angelis.

Swearingin and van Berlo currently hold a 45-point lead over the Aston Martin Vantage GT4 duo in the No. 7 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport, meaning a class win and a better result than the No. 24 Heart of Racing car would be enough to secure the championship two races early.

The battle for the Silver class is a bit more complex, with three driver pairings still in the race, with Eric Filgueiras and John Capestro-Dubets of RS1 leading the pack. They have an 18-point lead over Kevin Bohem and Kenton Koch of Random Vandals Racing.

With a 50-point deficit to the leader, AutoTechnic Racing’s Colin Garett and Zac Anderson have only a slim chance of winning the title with four races remaining.

The Am class title became drastically more difficult after a crash on the opening lap of Race 1 at Road America for the championship leader, the No. 98 Random Vandals BMW M4 GT4 of Paul Sparta. He is out for the rest of the season with a back injury.

Michael Kanisczak replaces team owner/driver, alongside Kris Wilson, who holds a narrow 13-point lead over Rotek Racing’s Robb Holland and Jaden Lander.

Random Vandals will be running a third BMW this weekend for Pro-Am duo Sam Craven and Josh Green, as part of a larger 28-car field.

Former Pro-Am class champions Jason Hart and Matt Travis also return in the No. 47 Nolasport Porsche, while Rodrigo Baptisa returns in the No. 5 Flying Lizard Motorsports Nissan Z NISMO GT4 after missing the Road America races.

Toyota-backed stock car driver Brent Crews will team up with Tyler Gonzalez in the No. 68 Smooge Racing Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO.

The GT4 America cars will take to the 2.38-mile circuit on Friday for two practice sessions, followed by qualifying and Race 1 on Saturday and Round 2 on Sunday.

Both races will be streamed live on SRO’s GT World YouTube channel and on Twitch.
