Arcane season two gets a new, substantial trailer ahead of its November launch on Netflix

The second season of the animated series Arcane will be released on Netflix in November. After an initial teaser trailer in June, Netflix has now released a more substantial two-minute trailer that you can watch below.

That sounds like the beautifully animated melodrama I remember.

In June it was also announced that Arcane’s second season would be its last, along with the first trailer. I think it’s admirable, given the popularity of the first season and League Of Legends in general, that they’re working towards a specific ending to the story.

Arcane is produced by French animation studio Fortiche, a large part of which was acquired by Riot Games in 2022. Riot also apparently has plans for many more TV and film productions.

Watching the trailer above got me excited for season two, but it also made me realize how little I remember from season one, despite loving it, beyond the basic A-plot. What’s going on with Kate? What happened to that… other guy? Was someone inventing magic or rediscovering it or…? I’d rewatch season one to refresh my memory, but I’m not sure I could handle the emotionally intense plot twists again, so I’m hoping season two starts off with a really solid recap instead.

Season two will be released in November, but there is no specific release date yet.
