Celtic have ‘no fear’ for Champions League clash

“No fear” is Elena Sadiku’s message to her Celtic players as they prepare for Saturday’s Champions League clash against Gintra.

After Celtic lost 1-0 to Finnish side KuPS on Tuesday, it looked like a familiar feeling for Celtic fans as they saw yet another European opportunity pass them by.

But the arrival of summer signing Saoirse Noonan changed the game as she was on the scoreboard just minutes after her introduction.

The match went into extra time, with the striker scoring two more goals to secure victory for the Glasgow side.

If Celtic emerge victorious on Saturday, they will play a two-leg draw against one opponent, with the winner advancing to the 16-team group stage.

“I know they are a little bit afraid of us,” Sadiku said of the Lithuanian team, who are also hosting the mini-tournament.

“They have the mentality that they are the underdogs and I know they will give us the toughest challenge they can.

“We have to be confident that we can do what we are good at and win the game.”
