The clip, shared by popular Instagram page “IIT Meme Cell,” shows a hilarious moment from a classroom at IIT Kanpur that has left viewers nostalgic as well as entertained.

The lighthearted side of IIT life

In the video, titled “Guy Trying to Enter Late in Class at IIT Kanpur,” a student sneaks into a lecture hall through a side door, hoping to go unnoticed. Trying to blend in, his stealthy entrance quickly draws the attention of his amused classmates, whose giggles give the situation away.

The professor, noticing the commotion, addresses the class with a smile. “Did anything else happen that I didn’t notice?” he asks, with a knowing grin. The students respond with a chorus of laughter and affirmations. Unaware of the boy hiding behind a wall, the professor continues, “Someone has entered the classroom, is that right?” Just as the tension is peaking, the boy makes a quick escape, leaving the entire room in stitches.

A user named Sai Aditya, who claimed to be present during the class, commented, “We were supposed to be in by 4:05 PM. The instructor jokes about keeping an eye on the doors, and this situation was no different. The entire lecture hall is visible to him, and no one escapes his line of sight.”

Another user, Amala, humorously recalled: “I used to give presence notifications for myself and two others in different voices when they were away. Then we would run in through the back door!”

The video has struck a chord with many, reminding alumni of their own playful moments in the classroom. As one user, Keerthana Kashyap, fondly put it, “I miss being in a class like this with 70 others, laughing in sync.”
