Welcome to the “Battlestar Galactica: Technical Manual.” Due to the many inconsistencies we encounter in the science of “Battlestar Galactica,” we focused on applying real science to the popular 1979 TV series created by Glenn A. Larson.

Scientific inaccuracies plagued many science fiction films/TV shows in the late 1970s and early 1980s. It wasn’t until the mid-1980s that Hollywood really began to enlist NASA and other space scientists for help in refining the technobable used in science fiction films and TV shows.
