Syracuse.com’s high school football rankings (Week 1): The reigning champions start strong

Syracuse, NY — The Section III football season kicked off last week and many of the top teams maintained their spots in the syracuse.com weekly rankings.

The reigning section champions, Christian Brothers Academy (AA), Whitesboro (Class A) and Indian River (Class B), proved, at least after Week 0, why they were awarded the top spots in the preseason rankings.
