Exclusive: Club ‘confident’ in Jamal Musiala deal, negotiations underway, says Fabrizio Romano

Bayern Munich are confident they can keep hold of Jamal Musiala and offer him a new contract, according to transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano.

Speaking exclusively to CaughtOffside In his latest column for the Daily Briefing, Romano gave his latest insights into the Musiala situation, with Bayern clearly making it a top priority to retain the talented young German international.

Musiala is under contract with Bayern until 2026, but the Bundesliga giants will undoubtedly do everything they can to ensure that this situation is still unresolved next year, otherwise they run the great risk of losing him for a price well below market value.

It’s no surprise that there have been plenty of links to top clubs in the Premier League and elsewhere, but Romano has yet to provide any major updates on those, or Musiala’s new deal at the Allianz Arena.

Jamal Musiala in action for Germany

It may take some time before this is resolved, but Romano has made it clear that Bayern are optimistic, but that it is also something they cannot make any mistakes on.

Musiala transfer: Romano on the future of the Bayern star

“Another top talent from Germany to keep an eye on is Jamal Musiala. Bayern have openly said they want him to sign a new contract and stay with the club for the long term,” Romano said.

“For now, however, no decision has been made, it is a negotiation. Nothing has changed for now, there have been no significant developments.

“Of course Bayern have confidence, they want Musiala to stay and his contact is a very important topic for the board, they just can’t let this mission fail. The negotiations are ongoing, but it’s too early to say how it will end.”

Bayern are one of the biggest clubs in the world, so they will undoubtedly be able to tempt Musiala to stay. However, the 21-year-old is also good enough to attract very attractive offers from elsewhere.
