Police negotiate surrender of suspect after three injured in attack in Ontario city

Police in Kingston, Ontario, report that three people were taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries following a violent daytime attack.

According to Kingston police, officers surrounded a suspect and attempted to negotiate his surrender starting at 1 p.m.

Spokesman Const. Anthony Colangeli says police have received reports that the suspect may have been wielding a sharp or blunt weapon, possibly both.

According to Colangeli, officers were called to the Integrated Care Hub around 10:40 a.m. after a report of a serious assault.

He says the three victims were all attacked “near” the walk-in health center, not inside it.

Police have closed Montreal Street between Railway Street and Hickson Avenue.
