Jamie Oliver’s beef stroganoff recipe is a ‘super easy’ version of the classic version

Celebrity chef and father of five Jamie Oliver has created a hearty autumn dish that is sure to warm the mood on cold days.

Jamie’s ‘super easy’ beef stroganoff recipe is packed with protein and combines the traditional way of cooking strips of beef with wild mushrooms and a creamy sauce.

For a warming kick that soothes the soul, he serves a glass of brandy in his version of the classic dish.

This tasty meal is ready in 25 minutes and contains 27 grams of protein and less than 350 calories per serving.

For the ultimate taste sensation, serve it on a bed of wild rice or with fresh, crusty bread and pickles.

Peel and chop the onion and garlic, finely grate the lemon peel. Clean and tear the mushrooms. Pick and chop the parsley.

Place the beef between two sheets of cling film. Flatten it with a rolling pin until it is ½ cm thick and then cut it into finger-width slices.

Mix the paprika, lemon zest, a pinch of sea salt and black pepper and sprinkle the beef with it.

In a large skillet over medium heat, fry the onion and garlic in a little oil until soft. Increase the heat and add the mushrooms and butter, fry until the mushrooms are golden brown, then remove to a plate.

Add a little oil to the pan and fry the beef for two minutes, turning, until browned but still pink in the middle. Stir in the mushroom and onion mixture, add the brandy and reduce for a minute or until almost gone.

Remove from heat and stir in cream and parsley. Enjoy your delicious meal!
