JNVST 2024: Registration for Navodaya class 6 entrance exam closes tomorrow

JNVST 2024: The online registration process for the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST 2024), for admission to class 6 at over 650 JNVs across the country, ends tomorrow, September 16. Parents can submit forms for the entrance test on the official website of the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) at navodaya.gov.in.

When registering for the exam, candidates must upload the following documents:

  1. Photo
  2. Signature of parent and candidate
  3. Aadhar details/Residence certificate and certificate verified by the school principal mentioning the candidate’s details in the prescribed format.

The information provided by the parents of candidates will be checked by the principals of the schools where they studied up to and including grade 5.

Candidates may apply for a JNV in the same district where they studied up to grade 5.

Only candidates born not before May 1, 2013 nor after July 31, 2015 (both dates inclusive) are eligible to apply.

The selection test will be held in two phases. The second phase will be on April 12, 2025 and the first phase exam will be held on January 18.

The duration of the exam is two hours. It starts at 11:30 and ends at 13:30 on both days.

There are 80 questions worth 100 points.

The JNVST results for admission to class 6 are expected to be announced in March 2025 for JNVs going into summer (stage 2 of the examination) and in May 2025 for JNVs going into winter (stage 1 of the examination).

The venues for the first phase of the examination (winter areas) are: Jammu and Kashmir (except Jammu-I, Jammu-II and Samba), Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Dibang Valley and Tawang districts of Arunachal Pradesh, Chamba, Kinnaur, Mandi, Sirmour, Kullu, Lahaul & Spiti and Shimla districts of Himachal Pradesh, Darjeeling district of West Bengal and Leh and Kargil districts of UT Ladakh.

Regions where the test will be conducted in summer are: Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh (except Dibang Valley and Tawang districts), Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh (except Chamba, Kinnaur, Mandi, Sirmour, Kullu, Lahaul & Spiti and Shimla districts), Jammu & Kashmir (only for Jammu-I, Jammu-II & Samba) Jharkhand, Kerala, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Orissa, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tripura, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand & West Bengal (except Darjeeling), Union Territories of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Chandigarh, Dadar & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu, Delhi, Lakshadweep and Puducherry
