Success story: Some people achieve success through sheer hard work and dedication, and in this journey they become role models for many others. Stories of these individuals inspire people, and show how perseverance and determination can lead to remarkable achievements. One such story is that of a man who started from scratch and now owns a 2000-crore company. Here is his story.

Dropped out of grade 6, sold wood for a living

Musthafa’s journey began in a small village in Kerala’s Wayanad, where he was born and brought up in a middle-class family. His father was a daily wage labourer and life was tough. After dropping out of class 6, Musthafa started helping his father on the farm. At that time, his daily income was just Rs 10, and he and his siblings did various odd jobs, like selling firewood, to support the family. By the age of 10, he managed to earn Rs 150, which he used as his first investment.

Admission to NIT

A teacher intervened and helped Musthafa go back to school and continue his studies. He made further investments, such as selling a goat to buy a cow, which provided the family with a steady income from selling milk. With some savings and a good fortune, Musthafa got admission to the National Institute of Technology (NIT) to study computer science. After graduating, he got an IT job at Motorola and later moved to Citibank in Dubai.

Birth of a brand with an investment of Rs 50,000 crore

A major turning point in Musthafa’s life came when he returned to India to pursue an MBA at the Indian Institute of Management in Bangalore. While he was still studying, Musthafa’s cousins started a business in 2005. They started by making dosa and idli batter. With an initial investment of Rs 50,000, they launched a start-up for ready-to-eat packaged food, which marked the beginning of iD Fresh Food.

Kissed Success

The business became successful when Musthaf and his cousins started supplying idli and dosa batter, which significantly increased their market position.

Today, iD Fresh Foods is known for its high-quality breakfast products, which are distinguished by the use of only natural ingredients without chemicals.
