Meleek Thomas and Amari Evans team up in the OTE League

The Overtime Elite draft was held on Tuesday and by the end of the night, two Pittsburgh natives were on the same team.

The City Reapers, a team in the OTE league, drafted Meleek Thomas. Amari Evans is already a member of the roster. The two Pitt targets are both originally from Pittsburgh and are now playing in Atlanta instead of finishing their high school careers back home. It seems that the two players are very happy with their teams in OTE this year after the draft.

2025 four-star guard prospect Amari Evans took an official visit to Tennessee this past weekend. He is also a top target for Pittsburgh.

Meleek Thomas Ranking Changes on 247 Sports

247 Sports recently updated the 2025 rankings, changing both Thomas and Evans’ rankings.

Thomas, formerly of Lincoln Park, is being recruited by Pitt, as well as UConn, Arkansas and other major programs. The guard has been a five-star prospect for years, according to numerous recruiting sites. Now, with last week’s update to 247Sports’ rankings, Thomas has a new ranking.

Thomas is still a five-star and has dropped to 11th overall in the class. He was previously ranked 9th by 247 Sports. Thomas is ranked as the 3rd combo guard in the country, behind only Darryn Peterson (3rd overall) and Brayden Burries (9th overall). Thomas is also the 2nd player in Georgia, as he now plays for Overtime Elite, based in Atlanta. If he were still playing in Pennsylvania, Thomas would have been the best player in the state in his senior class.

Meleek Thomas narrowed his list down to the following schools: UConn, Kansas, Alabama, Pitt, Auburn, Kansas State and Arkansas.

Thomas is highly regarded alongside Evans, who previously attended Bishop Canevin. Evans is now ranked 80th in the class of 2025, a jump from 96th in the class, his previous ranking.
