BREAKING: Benue militia led by dreaded duo identified as ‘Full Fire’ and ‘Chen’ declare an end to killings, bandits

Wednesday, September 18, 2024 witnessed a peaceful development as residents of Ukum breathed a sigh of relief after a peace and reconciliation meeting between leaders of two warring groups in Chito. The rival militias led by the feared duo identified as ‘Full Fire’ and ‘Chen’ declared an end to killings, banditry and theft in the area.

Traditional and religious leaders, elders, youth and women gather in Chito, Adzendeshi district, to make peace through Terhemen Mzaga (Full Fire) and Chen reconciliation.

According to an eyewitness, Full Fire and his boys were present, while Chen could not be there. His group members apologized on his behalf for not being able to show up and represented him.

During the meeting, Full Fire expressed appreciation to the traditional and religious leaders who had called them together for reconciliation.

He further said that for the sake of peaceful coexistence, he and his group have forgiven everyone who hurt them intentionally or unintentionally, adding that he no longer holds grudges against anyone.

He expressed disappointment that Chen was not there and said they should have hugged as a sign of peace and love.

However, the Chen boys agreed to consider Full Fire as their leader. They noted that by working together, they would be better able to combat outside forces that were planning to take over the fertile land of the Ukum local government. They promised that there would be no more such attacks in the future.

Traditional rulers also warned their colleagues against actions that would damage their image. They demanded that any traditional ruler who did not comply with the decision be dethroned immediately.

Both groups pledged to surrender their weapons for business and agricultural activities to resume and improve the economic prosperity of Ukum Local Government and Benue State in general.
