Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Placed Under Suicide Watch

Disgraced music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has reportedly been placed on suicide watch as he awaits trial after being accused of more than a decade of assault, threats and coercion against women and others, conspiracy to commit extortion, sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery and obstruction of justice, among other crimes.

While it’s unclear whether Combs is suicidal, the source told the magazine that the music mogul has been placed under surveillance for suicidal tendencies as a preventative measure because he is in shock and authorities are unsure of his mental state.

Combs was arrested Monday and charged with complicity in racketeering, trafficking in persons by force, fraud or coercion, and transportation for the purpose of prostitution, which carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.

On Tuesday, the Southern District of New York unsealed the federal indictment against the 54-year-old, which charges him with assault, threats and coercion of women and others over a decade, conspiracy to commit extortion, human trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery and obstruction of justice.

After Freak Offs, Combs allegedly gave the victims “infusions to help them recover from the physical exertion and drug use,” according to the federal indictment, which also noted that the music mogul would use the recordings he had “as collateral to ensure the victims’ continued compliance and silence.”

According to a report by the Daily Beast, the Metropolitan Detention Center holds approximately 1,600 inmates, most of whom are awaiting trial.

On Tuesday, Combs’ attorneys filed a motion for bail, stating that “several courts in this district have recognized that conditions at the Metropolitan Detention Center are not appropriate for pretrial detention.”

“Just earlier this summer, an inmate was murdered,” Combs’ legal team said. “At least four inmates have committed suicide there in the past three years.”

A new hearing for the disgraced music mogul is scheduled for September 24.
