NMSP Reports Crime Statistics from New Mexico State Fair

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The New Mexico State Police (NMSP) reported their crime statistics from their patrols at the New Mexico State Fair last week. Fifty-two NMSP officers were stationed at the fairgrounds during the 11-day event.

Officials say they made 14 arrests by state police during the fair and took eight crash reports. They say one of the arrests was for a physical altercation that resulted in non-life-threatening injuries to one person.

In the Tag Your Tots tent, 3,336 children were tagged to help keep them from being separated from their families. “The New Mexico State Police is proud to ensure the safety of the half million visitors to our great State Fair,” said NMSP Chief Troy Weisler. “My officers have worked tirelessly to not only maintain a safe environment for the public, but to build stronger connections with the community.”

The New Mexico State Fair reports that 517,926 visitors visited the fairgrounds this year.
