Crazy to the max – by James Howard Kunstler

Crazy to the max – by James Howard Kunstler

Note before the blog: My regular website, www.kunstler.com, is still down, without much help from the host company. We are making other arrangements to rebuild it and get it back on a secure server. Luckily, we jumped on Substack months ago as a backup in case of such an accident. The blog will continue to be there for you on Substack, Friday and Monday. Thanks for your support in this difficult time. Readers can find me at [email protected].

If something like a civil war breaks out in this country, the parties will not be the political Red and the Blue, but the sane and the insane. Now, unfortunately, it happens that the insane are driving the engine of government. They have been at war with the people of this country for years, robbing them of their livelihood, putting them in prison, breaking the social contract, ruining the country’s relations with the rest of the world, and tormenting the minds of the people with one insulting absurdity after another.

They are a bizarre coalition of the permanent bureaucracy, the Democratic Party, and the news media. The permanent bureaucracy includes its own machine for waging war on citizens: the intel blob, whose tentacles extend to other agencies: Homeland Security, the State Department, the so-called Justice Department, the Pentagon, the myriad Public Health offices, and the dark cabal that is taking the place of a disabled president in the White House.

You can tell they are insane because they are driven by a single motivation: to stay in power with no other goal than to avoid responsibility for their many crimes against the people. This is insane behavior because it depends on the proposition that reality doesn’t matter, that reality is optional, that there is no such thing as truth, and if there was, to to be a thingthen it would have no more value for the human project than its opposite: untruth.

The greatest absurdity of the moment is the idea that Americans would want to remain under the rule of this evil coalition devoted to unreality and untruth, that is, to vote for candidates of the Democratic Party. The greatest crimes, of course, are the lawless measures taken to distort the very elections that would enable them to retain power in office.

Some of it is well hidden and abstract, such as the machinations of election law chief Marc Elias, who has for years used the courts and state legislatures to manipulate election rules, making it impossible to account for who actually votes. This, as you can imagine, is insane. What sovereign nation would want to institutionalize election fraud?

Some election crimes are just plain in your face. There are many dark sides to open borders policies, but the obvious one is the stuffing of the voter rolls with living bodies with names attached, to be bundled and harvested into ballots like so many bundles of oats. No one is fooled by this. Yet the Democratic Party has a heavy hand on the levers of power that control access to the country. Alejandro Mayorkas, the Secretary of Homeland Security, allows this to happen and bullshits Congress in open committee hearings. Congress impeached him for this insult, and the Democratic majority in the Senate has refused to hold the corresponding trial — because stuffing the voter rolls with illegal immigrants allows them to stay in power.

The remedies for this insidious mess are fairly simple and straightforward: return to paper ballots cast on a single election day, requiring a voter ID equivalent to proof of citizenship. Everything else—automated (hackable) ballot counting machines, mail-in ballots, early voting, automatic voter registration through other government transactions that have nothing to do with elections (motor-voter acts)—only ensures election fraud. Healthy people don’t try to cheat themselves.

The suspicion among the non-crazy people is that even the attempt at massive voter fraud will not convince the crazies’ leading candidate: Vice President Kamala Harris. No one believes she is capable of being president. But the crazies are not looking for a capable president — in fact, quite the opposite. They want a president who can only function with the guidance and management of the blob, by the blob, and for the blob. The blob’s motives, besides trying to avoid responsibility for its past crimes, are license to commit new crimes, particularly crimes that extend the many benefits and privileges of being in power. These include the fortunes to be made from controlling the nation’s wealth, and the sadistic pleasure that comes from punishing and humiliating their non-crazy opponents. For example, running the insane war in Ukraine, with its fantastic kickbacks for military contractors and officials… and making you witness more drag queen stories.

Given the possibility that sane citizens could elect Mr. Trump, despite calculated election fraud, who would resist all this psychotic, criminal nonsense, the coalition of the permanent bureaucracy, the Democratic Party, and the news media seems to have few options left but to assassinate Mr. Trump. The first two potential assassins have some connection to the intelligence blob. Thomas Crooks (or at least one of his many cell phones) has repeatedly traveled to a building in downtown D.C. adjacent to FBI headquarters; Ryan Wesley Routh has alleged ties to the Maximus Company in Arlington, Va., a CIA clipping — which may explain how the otherwise cash-strapped Routh financed his globe-trotting. Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) revealed yesterday that the DHS knows of five hit teams targeting President Trump, three tied to foreign governments, two domestic.

The most puzzling element in the coalition of the lunatics is the news media, that is, the cable news networks plus The New York Times / WasPost as — who have tirelessly broadcast the mantras that Mr. Trump is trying to suppress our democracy and that he is a new Hitler who must be stopped at all costs. The incendiary barrage has had a clear effect. But the mystery is: what do these news companies gain from going along with their insane and desperate partners: the Blob and the Dems?

What’s in it for Joe Khan, editor-in-chief of The Times? His paper lies and spins unreality incessantly. He earns a comfortable salary, no doubt, but he cannot become rich. . . that is, really rich. . . millions. Apparently he publishes unreal stories because he is insane. He believes things that are not true. And his reporters don’t get any really rich. They simply seem to be blinded by sheer hatred — to the point of insanity — and perhaps also by a lingering fear that their many published lies, dating back to RussiaGate, will eventually disgrace them professionally if allowed to be pursued and exposed by sane people.

The temperature is rising in this political melting pot. Something is melting. It seems pretty clear now who can handle the heat and who can’t.
