Even the media seems shocked by Kamala Harris’ media-backed fortunes

The Regime Media has spent the last few weeks supporting and abetting Kamala Harris’ candidacy by having her refuse to participate in interviews, town halls or anything else that would put her in jeopardy of being asked a difficult question. And even she seem astonished at the extent to which this strategy is paying off.

Watch this portion of the panel discussion at NBC’s Meet the pressand listen to Kristen Welker’s joyful amazement:

NBC MEETS THE PRESS

22/09/24

10:37 am

KRISTEN WELKER: One of the other big headlines is that Harris is up nine points when we ask, “Who is the candidate for change?” She’s in the White House right now! She’s the current vice president and she’s…

AMY WALTER: So it’s remarkable that she makes this argument.

WELKER: What is behind that and what are your main conclusions… (unint)?

WALTER: My main takeaways are that she’s been able to turn this from a race that was a referendum on Joe Biden to a race that’s a referendum on Donald Trump. And what I find remarkable, apart from the favorable numbers, is when you look at the questions, “Who do you think can serve as commander in chief?” “Who do you think will be capable and effective?” She’s been able to not only move into the positive column, but she’s — in the “capable and effective” area, she’s seen — she’s up 23 points from where Biden was. I mean, this was a huge advantage for Trump going into the election when Biden was the nominee.

The poll in question is the most recent NBC News poll, which shows Harris ahead and the web article that NBC helpfully titled Poll: Harris, who recently rose in popularity, gains momentum, challenges Trump for role of changeHarris has an advantage in candidacy, commander in chief, competence and direction, but lags behind in immigration, the economy, crime and inflation.

The media essentially went along with Harris’ reinvention of the campaign into a change candidacy, the “Plexiglass Basement” campaign strategy of making Harris visible but unreachable, and Harris’ refusal to submit to a meaningful interview or press conference. Now, just weeks before the election, the media is gloating about the success of the strategy. Welker could hardly contain himself!

For the rest of us, this is yet another example of deliberate media interference in the presidential election.
