The best-selling books of the week, according to all lists

After a string of nearly identical weekly bestseller lists, this one looks fresh and interesting! We’ve got six titles making their debut on this list, which could be a record. In fiction, there are new titles from beloved authors Elizabeth Strout and Liane Moriarty. There’s also a new book from TJ Klune, which I personally haven’t gotten on board with since I learned that his “cozy” fantasy novel was inspired by the horrific history of boarding schools and the scoop of the ’60s. (If you’re interested, this Reddit thread has a good discussion on the topic.)

New in the nonfiction space is Nexus: A Brief History of Information Networks from the Stone Age to AI by Yuval Noah Harari. It’s the only book to appear on all five bestseller lists! (Amazon’s list is significantly different from the rest, so I don’t know what’s going on there.) You may recognize the name from one of his previous bestsellers, Sapiens.

Also new to the nonfiction bestseller list is Casey Means’ health book Good Energy . Another is the latest from notorious right-wing pundit Bill O’Reilly, who was fired from Fox News after a series of sexual harassment lawsuits and a New York Times exposé… and somehow, depressingly, still has an audience.

This list continues to lack diversity in many areas, including the fact that it is disproportionately white. Other bestsellers to look out for include The Fraud by Zadie Smith (Indie Bestseller), Ghosts of Honolulu by Mark Harmon and Leon Carroll Jr. (NYT Bestseller), and Crying in H Mart by Michelle Zauner (Indie Bestseller).

To get these numbers, we look at the Today in the US overall top 10; Publishers weekly overall top 10; The New York Times Top 10, both combined print and ebook fiction and combined print and ebook nonfiction lists; Amazon Charts Top 10, both fiction and nonfiction; and Indie Bestsellers Top 10, fiction and nonfiction, both paperback and hardcover. New additions to the list this week are in bold.
