Audi Q8 Facelift 2024 Review: A Stylish Luxury SUV

The Q8 remains one of the best-looking SUVs in its class, largely because of its sloping roof and the wide stance that emanates from its muscular lines. It’s a sporty luxury SUV that sits above the more practical Q7. Now, Audi has given it an update, while at Rs 1.17 cr, it seems to offer better value than rivals.

Technically, the Q8 has no rivals in India at this price point, which means it holds its own. The exterior is the highlight, which now gets a new grille with additional inserts and the new Audi 2D logo. There are also new HD Matrix LEDs with laser lights and the fact that you can customize the DRL signatures – pretty cool! Elsewhere, there are new 21-inch alloy wheels with the rotating wheel covers. The styling at the rear remains as before, but honestly, there was no need for a change anyway, while there is now a silver skid plate. The Q8 looks fantastic and that remains the highlight.

Inside, the Q8 has three screens – one for the driver and two touchscreens. The digital display is the typical Audi cockpit that can be customised and we think, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it! It’s also easier to use than some rivals! As you’d expect from an SUV in this class, the Q8 gets dual powered front seats, a huge panoramic sunroof, four-zone climate control, ambient lighting, a B&O sound system, electric sunblinds, a 360-degree camera, Park Assist Plus, an electric tailgate opener and closer plus soft-close doors.

However, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay were sorely missed, along with cooled seats. There’s also more space in the back than you might think and it’s pretty comfortable. The engine remains a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 with a mild hybrid system producing 340bhp and 500Nm with a standard eight-speed automatic plus Quattro AWD of course. New for the Q8 is the fact that it doesn’t get air suspension, but to be honest you’d hardly notice with the smooth ride and comfortable driving experience. It’s not as harsh as rivals, while the smooth engine offers enough power to make it an excellent cruiser. It’s a big car, but it doesn’t feel that way from behind the wheel, while the steering is as light as you’d expect from an Audi.

The Q8 is still a luxury SUV with a good price-performance ratio. For the price it has the space, the looks and also the sporty touch that owners would like to see.
