The ‘Chrisley Knows Best’ star and her husband Todd were jailed in 2023 after pleading guilty to 12 counts of tax evasion and fraud. Todd, 55, was sentenced to 12 years and Julie, 51, to seven years.

Julie appeared in the Northern District of Georgia District Court in Atlanta on Wednesday (9/25/24) to hear the outcome of her appeal, after a federal judge refused to grant her a more lenient sentence.

Before the verdict was announced, Julie said: “I want to say that I have had years to think about what I wanted to say and I apologize for my actions and situations that have brought us to where we are today.

“I have been in prison for 20 months, but in the lead up to the trial it was much longer. I apologize for my actions that led to where we are today.

“I did everything I could to get closer to my family.

“I took tests for new skills, like driving a forklift and serving food properly… this was the hardest part of my life.

“I can never repay my children for what they have had to endure and I am deeply sorry for that.”

Julie’s daughter, influencer Savannah Chrisley, is said to be devastated that her mother’s sentence was upheld.

An insider told DailyMail.com: “Savannah is in ruins. She had everything prepared for Julie to come home. She was so sure she would be freed.”

Earlier this year, Julie’s conviction was upheld, but her sentence was overturned by a three-judge panel of the 11th U.S. Court of Appeals, and her case was remanded for resentencing.

However, Todd’s appeal was rejected by the court.
