Europa League: Roma vs Athletic Club – Likely lineups and where to watch

Roma begin the 2024-25 Europa League season with a visit from LaLiga side Athletic Club, and Ivan Juric could reward recent goalscorer Tommaso Baldanzi with his first start of the season.

According to reports on Thursday, Baldanzi is set to play a supporting role alongside Paulo Dybala, behind striker Artem Dovbyk in a 3-4-2-1 formation.

20-year-old midfielder Niccolo Pisilli could also retain his starting position in midfield, alongside Bryan Cristante or Manu Kone.

Gianluca Mancini, Evan Ndicka and Mario Hermoso are the expected central defenders in the Giallorossi’s back three.

Kick-off is at 20:00 BST.
