Greater Flint Area Sports Hall of Fame announces Class of 2024

GRAND BLANC, Mich. (WNEM) – Today the Greater Flint Area Sports Hall of Fame announced their incoming Class of 2024.

The group consists of former athletes from Swartz Creek, Flushing, Flint Northern and Fenton.

The Greater Flint Area Sports Hall of Fame also announced their male and female athletes of the year.

Board of Directors member Bill Troesken says that the introduction feels like a homecoming for these athletes.

This class is honestly on par with some of the others. We have hall of famers, we have professional athletes,” Troesken said. “People look at someone and say, ‘My God, I haven’t seen you in 20 or 30 years.’ So it is a bit of a homecoming, not only for the participants, but also for those present.”

The induction ceremony will take place on December 7 at the Genesys Athletic Conference-Banquet Center and tickets will be available on November 1.
