Phoenix man sentenced to 5 years in prison for drug dealing

PHOENIX – A Maricopa County Superior Court on Monday sentenced a man to prison for dealing fentanyl and methamphetamine, Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes announced Wednesday.

Eduardo Cruz was sentenced to five years in prison, three years of probation and ordered to pay $14,500 for selling nearly 10 pounds of drugs in Phoenix earlier this year.

In February, Cruz was found to have sold approximately 10,000 fentanyl pills, weighing 2.4 pounds. In March, he had 7.05 pounds of meth for sale.

Cruz was arrested by the Arizona Department of Public Safety and charged with conspiracy to sell a narcotic drug, a class 2 felony, attempt to possess a dangerous drug for sale, a class 3 misdemeanor, and illegally leading of an enterprise, a class 3 misdemeanor.

Cruz pleaded guilty to all three charges. Along with his sentence, he was ordered to pay $4,500 to the State Anti-Racking Revolving Fund and $10,000 in investigation costs.
