GAMERGY is a series of esports gaming events that takes place every year and offers competitions divided into professional, amateur and educational to promote different levels of participation.

Organized by IFEMA MADRID in collaboration with technology company GGTechGAMERGY has delivered more than 20 esports and gaming festival events across several continents, including Europe, North and South America.

Heineken Player 0.0 is a sim racing and mobile gaming initiative created by Heineken. It’s part of the brand’s commitment to the message ‘The best driver is the one who doesn’t drink’. In addition to organizing the Heineken Player 0.0 competition at GAMERGY, Heineken 0.0 is also sponsoring the event.

Earlier this year, the GAMERGY festival headed to Miami, where it hosted the Call of Duty League Major II in 2024, making it the first edition of the event series in the United States. In 2023, the festival was also organized in Mexico and Argentina in addition to Spain.

GGTech Entertainment made headlines in June 2023 when it secured an investment of $12.4 million (~£9.93 million) with the aim of entering the North American market and increasing its presence in Europe, MENA and LATAM.

Before raising the additional capital, the company was active in amateur, semi-professional and educational esports tournaments. In addition to GAMERGY, GGTech has spearheaded the Amazon University Esports series in Europe.

Cristina Carranza, Global Head of Sales at GGTechspoke about the announcement: “Over the past few years, we’ve seen the traditional sports and gaming ecosystems come closer together in innovative and compelling ways.

“During our most recent GAMERGY México edition, we saw that our tennis, soccer, boxing, skateboarding and paddle activations were among the most popular gaming trade show attractions. We are very excited to partner with Heineken in bringing Player 0.0 to the digital fandom.”
