NASA captures a stunning X9 class solar flare, the strongest of this cycle

NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory records a class X9 solar flare, the strongest of this solar cycle, on October 3, 2024, in two ultraviolet wavelengths. According to NASA, these solar flares are an intense release of energy from the sun, which can impact “radio communications, power grids, navigation signals and pose risks to spacecraft and astronauts.” Thursday 3 is known as an X9 class flare. NASA said that X-class eruptions were the most intense and that the number indicated their intensity. On February 22, NASA captured an X6.3 flare.
