HPD: One robbed on a hiking trail near Providence

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Huntsville police said a person was robbed Saturday evening on hiking trails near Providence.

Huntsville police said officers responded to a robbery at the Providence area trails and adjacent apartments.

HPD said the suspect may have used a portable Taser on the victim and then took the victim’s belongings.

Officers set up a perimeter in an attempt to locate the suspect, but HPD said they were unsuccessful.

HPD said they believe this was an isolated incident and the victim suffered minor injuries.

This is currently an ongoing investigation.
