Brisbane food delivery data from Uber Eats, Menulog and DoorDash reveals the most popular items

Fast food dominates food delivery across the country. Menulog commercial director Rory Murphy said Brisbane’s top burger choice matched the company’s findings for Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide.

Chips and burgers also topped DoorDash’s figures in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Perth and Darwin.

For grocery deliveries through its apps, DoorDash reported that bananas and milk were the most frequently ordered items, while bread and milk topped Menulog’s list.

Beer was the most ordered alcoholic beverage on Uber Eats and Menulog, but came in third on DoorDash, behind vodka and dry white wine.

Figures from Uber Eats show that while beer was the most popular order at bottle shops in Brisbane, NSW customers preferred sauvignon blanc, while in Victoria pinot noir was king.

DoorDash’s latest annual trends report shows that late night food orders (midnight – 5 a.m.) are up 107 percent, while breakfast orders (5 a.m. – 11 a.m.) are up 58 percent.

DoorDash also found that Brisbane’s taste for iced lattes was at odds with Sydney and Melbourne, where users preferred the regular variety.

Queensland residents spend an average of $51 per week on food delivery, the lowest among states (excluding Tasmania and the territories), according to a 2023 survey by consumer review site Canstar Blue. At $72 a week, NSW residents spend the most.
