Every Saturday, around 6 million people around the world take part in a communal 5km run or walk, often around a local park, as part of the global phenomenon ‘parkrun’. The parkrun at Whitemark Wharf on Flinders Island is small and takes an average of 10 minutes slower than the Australian average, but provides an important outlet for social connection and improving mobility.
