Kanto robbery suspect arrested in Niigata

A fugitive wanted in connection with a series of violent robberies in Tokyo and Saitama Prefecture has been arrested by police from Saitama Prefecture in Niigata Prefecture, local authorities announced Monday.

Rikiya Morita, 24, whose address and occupation are unknown, was arrested and taken into custody on suspicion of, among other things, armed robbery causing injury. Police say Morita has admitted to the charges.

Morita was taken into custody in Kashiwazaki city on Monday evening in connection with a separate fraud case investigated by Niigata Prefecture police.
