Rivals: Jilly Cooper's 'bonkbuster' TV hit that everyone is talking about

There’s a champagne-swilling, ‘giant 80s hair’ and ‘rumpy pumpy’ TV series coming your way – it could only be a Jilly Cooper adaptation.

Disney+ has given the legendary author’s 1988 “bonkbuster” book “Rivals” a modern makeover and it’s already catching the attention of critics.

It’s “all so vibrant” that “you can almost smell the cigarette smoke and hairspray, wet dogs and sex,” says Jane Fryer for the Daily Mail. Everything ‘Jilly’ feels ‘refreshed’, including the ‘huge, sprawling, honey-covered Cotswolds manor with croquet lawns’ and ‘herbaceous borders to die for’, with ‘endless champagne drinking’ and ‘gigantic hair from the years 80’.
