Kate Middleton eight months after announcing she had been diagnosed with cancer, she stepped out for her first public appearance. The Princess of Wales was accompanied by her husband, Prince Williamto visit Southport Community Center in Southport, England. Kate chose to wear colors associated with the fall season: warm, rich and earthy tones. Think of reddish brown tones to earthy blues, and from fresh green to flaming oranges

Kate wore Alexander McQueen’s chocolate double-breasted coat with sharp shoulders and lapels. Under the coat she wore a lavallière midi dress in burgundy red with white dots. Kate’s dress is from the London brand Whistles. Chocolate-colored suede heels completed her look. Her outfit complemented that of Prince William, who wore a maroon sweater and tie.

Kate’s outing marks her first public appearance since completing her chemotherapy treatment, which she announced in September. “Although I have finished chemotherapy, my road to healing and full recovery is long and I must continue to take each day as it comes,” the Princess of Wales said in a video directed by Will Warr.

The royal couple visited Southport to show their support for the community following a tragic mass stabbing incident in July at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class, which left three children dead.

Kate’s last public appearance after her cancer diagnosis was at Trooping the Colour. For the annual event, she wore a white Jenny Packham dress with a black and white bow to match her white wide-brimmed hat by Philip Treacy.
