Meet the class of 10/18

Jackson Hojnicki, Brighton High School

Jackson stands out as an exemplary student, both academically and in his extracurricular involvement. With a GPA of 4.1667, Jackson has consistently demonstrated his commitment to excellence as he prepares for a future in medicine. Jackson excels at time management while balancing the demands of school, varsity sports, jobs and leadership roles in organizations such as Student Council, the National Honor Society and the BHS Ruff N Rowdy Student Section. His ability to maintain academic excellence while competing in varsity lacrosse speaks to his dedication and work ethic. Outside the classroom, Jackson has proven himself in a variety of jobs, most notably as a ski instructor, where he helped children from disadvantaged backgrounds learn to ski. This was particularly meaningful to him because it combined his love of teaching with community activities.

Jackson’s determination, leadership and compassion for others make him an excellent choice for Student of the Week.

Delaney Richardson, Fowlerville High School

Delaney, a junior at Fowlerville High School, was recently elected president of the FFA, a remarkable achievement for a student in her class. In addition to her leadership role, Delaney is an accomplished athlete, competing on both the field and in track and field. As an AP student, she excels academically and embodies qualities such as kindness, self-motivation, determination and purpose. Delaney consistently works hard to achieve the goals she sets, both in the classroom and in her extracurricular activities. She is an excellent role model for her peers and a shining example of what it means to be a true gladiator.

Jack Lansing, Hartland High School

Jack is a student in the peer-to-peer class. Jack is patient, kind, and resourceful with his peer-to-peer students. Hartland High School Assistant Principal Jessica Guss is impressed with how well Jack interacts and helps his colleagues while being patient, keeping the student focused and simply talking to the student. Jack is a great asset to Hartland High School and the community.

Jeffrey Stimson, Howell High School

Jeffrey Stimson has excelled academically and maintained a high GPA while enrolled in several Advanced Placement courses. Despite a demanding course load, he remains closely involved in the performing arts, participating in choir, band and drama. As vice president of the Interact Club, Jeffrey also demonstrates leadership and dedication to helping others.

James Rinaldi, Pinckney High School

James loves learning and being involved. He is positive in all his interactions. From the auto shop to the math classroom, according to his teachers, he exhibits the character traits of enthusiasm and self-control and is one of the nicest and most well-mannered students in the class. James is also the lieutenant drum major of the PCHS Marching Band and an active member of the Act2 Theater Company.
