Adam Azim vs. Ohara Davies schedule, results and full card for the 2024 British boxing fight

Adam Azim, one of British boxing’s rising stars, takes a step up in class when he takes on domestic rival Ohara Davies at London’s Copper Box Arena.

There are calls for Azim (11-0, 8 KOs) to face another of Britain’s blue chip prospects Dalton Smith, a meeting that now feels much more plausible as battles are waged over promotion lines in the Riyadh season era of boxing.

First he has to get past his former training partner Davies, who is back in action for the first time since being crushed by Ismael Barroso in a round in Las Vegas in January.

That snapped a seven-fight winning streak and the fact that the former British and Commonwealth champion’s only other defeats in his career have come at the hands of Josh Taylor and Jack Catterall proves he only tends to fall short in elite company. That’s where Azim wants to prove he belongs, as many good judges expect.

“I’m preparing for the biggest puncher of my career,” the 22-year-old told Sky Sports. “He’s a big puncher, but the object of the game is not to get hit.

“I want to go back to my corner, sit down, and when Shane (McGuigan) asks me ‘how’s his shot?’ I want to say, ‘I haven’t been hit yet.’

“I know I come from the high mountains of Kashmir and I know I am a warrior in my family. There is much more to come. I am still young, I am still learning and I am looking forward to the fight.” .”

Anthony Yarde and Dan Azeez are both in undercard action, seemingly aiming to set up an intriguing all-British light-heavyweight showdown in 2025.
