A group of students from group 9 did not find the day exciting because of the high price they had to pay.

Group 9 refuses to pay R15 civvies

Civvies Day used to be the best day of the week as students at school got the chance to rock their favorite outfits. Students would have to pay a minimum of R2 for wearing casual clothes.

The proceeds would go to the fundraising goal. In a now-viral clip shared by a 9th grade teacher, students were not enthusiastic about wearing plainclothes because of the ridiculous fee. The school required students to wear their Sunday clothes on Fridays.

The class stood up in their full school uniforms in protest at the high price:

“Ask someone else to do it.”

Teacher finds love letters from 5th grade students
