Wilson moves up to Class 6A after winning the LL Section 1 crown

Wilson’s victory over Manheim Township to claim the Lancaster-Lebanon League Section 1 football title had ripple effects across the state.

The Bulldogs (9-1) moved up two spots to seventh in the state rankings compiled and distributed by Eric Epler and PennLive.com.

The Blue Streaks (9-1) had to watch the teams.

Both teams have byes in the District 3 Class 6A playoffs and begin play on Friday, November 9.

Wyomissing’s loss to Lampeter-Strasburg also clinched Class 4A, with the Spartans (8-2) dropping from second to sixth. The Pioneers (10-0) moved up to third place.

Both teams have byes in the District 3 Class 4A tournament and won’t play until the following weekend.

A total of eight Berks teams qualified for the District 3 playoffs, with four – Governor Mifflin (6A), Exeter (5A), Schuylkill Valley (3A) and Berks Catholic (3A) – opening this weekend.

Governor Mifflin, 5-5 and the ninth seed in 6A, plays at eighth-seeded Cumberland Valley (5-5) on Friday at 7 p.m.

In 5A, eighth-seeded Exeter (9-1) will host ninth-seeded South Western (7-3) on Friday at 7 p.m.

In 3A, third-seeded and Lancaster-Lebanon League Section 5 championship Schuylkill Valley (8-2) hosts sixth-seeded Littlestown (6-4).

And also Friday night in 3A, fifth-seeded Berks Catholic (6-4) travels to fourth-seeded Biglerville (7-3).

Undefeated Conrad Weiser (5A) and 8-2 Twin Valley (4A) also have byes this weekend.
