Wisconsin’s class of 2025 is making a move to a top SEC power

Wisconsin Class of 2025 commit Brenden Anes reversed his commitment to Tennessee on Thursday.

Anes originally committed to the Badgers class of 2025 in January, choosing the program over other offers including Duke, Indiana, Memphis and Tennessee.

Anes’ release now drops Luke Fickell’s class of 2025 to 23 recruits, with two outside linebackers (three-star Samuel Lateju and four-star Nicolas Clayton). He is the second player to drop his commitment to the class in the past week, joining three-star defensive lineman Wilnerson Telemaque.

247Sports ranks the Franklin, Tennessee native as the No. 584 player in the class of 2025, No. 61 linebacker and No. 20 recruit from his home state. Given his move to a highly ranked SEC program, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see that ranking rise in the coming weeks.

Wisconsin’s class of 2025 is still ranked No. 28 in the country and No. 10 in the new Big Ten after Anes’ release. While Anes and Telemaque each recently left the class, the group also recently turned DL Drayden Pavey and TE Emmett Bork from Purdue and Michigan State, respectively.

Fickell and his staff still have time to put the finishing touches on what will likely be considered a successful class of the 2025 cycle.
