BioWare has always been quick to share player stats for its games. In particular, the developer sparked heated debates among fans whenever he revealed data for Mass Effect. And while we doubt these early points of interest for Dragon Age: The Veilguard will prove very surprising, they still provide welcome insight into the character creation process.

For starters, the class selection is actually a very even split. Mage barely wins: 40% of players opt for magic-based combat, while Warrior and Rogue are at 30% each.

Next, boring old people are the most popular choice for Rook’s race, at 43%. Elves come in second at 40%, while Qunari – in all their horned glory – is chosen only 11% of the time. Dwarves come in at just 6%, but that’s probably heavily influenced by the fact that Dwarves can’t be Mages.

And then there are factions, which determine the background of your hero. At the top we have an even split of 24% between the classic Gray Wardens and the sharp Shadow Dragons. After that it is the Antivan Crows with 16%, the Veil Jumpers with 15%, the Lords of Fortune with 11% and finally The Mourn Watch with 10%. The idea of spending your days in a gigantic necropolis isn’t that appealing, we think.
