Women’s sports was the women’s rights issue on the ballot

In this year’s elections, Democrats championed women’s rights. They just chose the wrong right to run on. All they talked about was abortion, as if that’s the only right women care about.

Ultimately, it was gender ideology that broke through as the driving force behind women. It turns out that women don’t like being told that men can simply say they are women and take away women’s rights and opportunities.

The Democratic Party has made transgender policy a defining issue from day one of the Biden administration. On January 20, 2021, Biden signed an executive order that eliminated women’s sports. The order mandated that any educational institution receiving federal funding must admit biological males to girls’ and women’s sports if they say they are women. This was further entrenched with the rewrite of Title IX, which was released in April.

The Trump campaign spent $37 million on ads targeting the harms of transgender ideology in response to the left’s obsession with it. And it resonated. While ordinary people, both Democrats and Republicans, are concerned with fundamental issues like the economy and immigration, Democrats continue to let boys compete in girls’ sports — and call anyone who disagrees a bigot.

Democrats were confident that the Supreme Court’s decision would stand Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization would bring women to the polls, just like in the 2022 midterm elections. They were confident that, with enough fear-mongering, women would be convinced that they would be forced to don a red maid’s robe and legally reduced to nothing more than a birth. people – which, ironically, is what the Democrats call women.

But they went too far. Women do care about abortion. But since then, the number of abortions has increased Dobbsand the vast majority of people believe in safe, legal and rare, and are disgusted by the “yell your abortion” crew.

And the fact is: women actually care about other issues when it comes to their own rights. They absolutely care about protecting women’s sports and spaces, and they know that if Democrats can’t define what a woman is, they can’t protect women’s rights.

Women don’t want their daughters to have to compete with men. The lives of Generation

Meanwhile, Democrats refuse to recognize women as a biological reality and a definable class. In 2022, during the Supreme Court confirmation hearing for Ketanji Brown Jackson, Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) asked Jackson to define what a woman is. Jackson’s utterly chilling response: “I’m not a biologist.”

Jackson declined to answer a simple question because she did not want to stir the “progressive” camp of the Democratic Party. Had she responded with “adult human woman,” she would have unleashed the wrath of the LGBT activist class with her “trans women are women” attacks.

No, they are not. They are male. And women recognize that if you can’t say that these specific people with XX chromosomes are women and they deserve these specific sex-based rights, then men can take away some of those rights.

There’s a lot going on among left-wing pundits right now. Joe Scarborough, from “best Biden ever” fame, insists he always said this issue was a loser for Democrats. On Good morning Joe, he said: “(A)s we’ve said a thousand times on this show: Democrats need to be smarter on women’s athletics. 85% of Americans are against men making the transition after puberty and competing with women. And I’m not just saying this the day after the election. I’ve been saying this for years.”

And he said it back in March. But to now pretend that this is the drum he has been beating is an absurd attempt to save face, when everyone knows that his relentless focus on Trump is Hitler.

And for the record, Scarborough also said in March that while no one wants men in women’s sports, no one will care enough to vote on it. He called it “wholesome and infuriating” on the part of Republicans, then said, “The social issues that matter most to people: abortion and guns.”

He was wrong.

And some in the party are now coming to terms with that. After the election, Rep. Tom Suozzi (D-NY) said, “I don’t want to discriminate against anyone, but I don’t think biological boys should play in girls’ sports.”

Rep. Seth Moulton (D-MA) said, “I have two little girls. I don’t want them to be run over on a playing field by a male or former male athlete, but as a Democrat I should be afraid to say that.” His implication: I’m not afraid to say it!

But both Suozzi and Moulton voted against passing the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act, which would have amended Title IX to recognize sex as based on biology. They are running for cover now that people have spoken out for fairness and women’s rights.

Democratic pundits and lawmakers bowed to stirring up activists and selling out women in the process. Then they made it worse and labeled women with differing opinions as bigots.

Chris Cilita, co-manager of Trump’s campaign, said: “The Democrats have made this the defining cultural battle of the last five years. We finished it in this campaign.” While this is true as far as elections go, something tells me we’ll be seeing Democrats avoid this issue for a while. Voters rejected their actual message, not just the “message.” And they still haven’t figured it out.
