However, there is one major problem holding the AMES 85 back: the Model L exists. The Model L is essentially the same weapon as the AMES 85, except it does 36 damage per shot instead of 28. As a result, it kills faster at close range, allowing it to be more versatile.

Still, the AMES 85 isn’t a bad weapon, and you could do a lot worse than using it. It still outperforms most MW2 and MW3 weapons, as well as most BO6 weapons. However, if you want to get the most out of your equipment, the Model L is the superior option.
