They are cared for by foster mother Oshine, an orangutan from Borneo who was rescued from the illegal pet trade in South Africa in 2010.

Monkey World director Dr Alison Cronin said: “It is so important that the babies grow up with others of their own kind rather than humans, so that they grow into healthy and well-adjusted adults.

‘It’s hard work caring for two needy orphans, but it means the children can grow up together under the watchful eyes of their older siblings and their adopted mother.

“It’s quite an international crowd at the orangutan farm and while it’s very sad that their mothers aren’t looking after them, all of us, from Spain to Ireland and Dorset, are doing everything we can to give these beautiful babies families of their parents . own kind.”

With the addition of Kiwi and Sibu, Monkey World says it has cared for thirteen orphans from seven countries over the years.
