HANOI, VIETNAM – Media OutReach Newswire – November 4, 2024 – VinFast and the Durango Drivers’ Union in Mexico have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to work together on the green transition of public transport, including THe potential purchase of 3,000 electric cars from VF 5 and 300 electric buses by DurangO Operating Drivers’ UnionN in Mexico. This strategic partnership underlines the growing global interest in VinFast’s electric vehicles and highlights their ability to meet the changing needs of diverse markets.

Under the agreement, both parties will negotiate the sale of VF 5 electric vehicles and electric buses to the Union of Drivers and Associates of Durango, a member of the Confederation of Mexico Workers (CTM) for public passenger transportation in Durango City, replacing the current gasoline fleet.

In addition, VinFast and its subsidiary V-Green and CTM will collaborate to study, establish, install and/or operate charging infrastructure for electric vehicles and electric buses in Durango, creating a convenient and comprehensive charging network that meets the needs of both individuals – as public transport vehicles.

This collaboration will contribute to the greening of transportation and the development of the EV ecosystem in Durango City and throughout Mexico. Replacing the gasoline fleet with electric vehicles will significantly reduce CO2 emissions, while the Durango Drivers’ Union will also help save on operating costs and create new jobs through the installation and operation of the charging system.
